Bentonite clay coconut oil toothpaste

Update: I don’t use this anymore, mainly because it gets stuck in the drain a lot which is inconvenient. However, I did like it as toothpaste. If I were to be in a situation where I had to make my own toothpaste for some reason or have few supplies, I would definitely use this recipe.

Toothpaste

Bentonite clay coconut oil toothpaste

An effective and easy to make natural toothpaste.

  • 1/8 tsp. each: himalayan pink salt, tumeric, cayenne, cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground ginger

  1. Mix everything together. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

Many sources warn against mixing bentonite clay with metal tools, as it supposedly reduces its effectiveness.

MUCH simpler than this… I used baking soda and (food grade) hydrogen peroxide [3% concentration]. the baking soda naturally removes smells and it acts as a slight abrasive which helps a LOT to remove plaque from the teeth. the hydrogen peroxide is also an anti-microbial and it works VERY quickly to neutralize bad microbes in the body/gums… and it also helps to whiten the teeth. you WILL notice a difference in your teeth and gums within a week of using this combo.
I personally also add Lugols iodine solution which is also an antifungal. (Most people don’t know that problems with teeth being infected, falling out, or being painful is a result of fungal infection in the gums…. this is the cause of halitotis (smelly breathe that doesnt easily go away even when you brush your teeth regularly).

So to summarize, I have a covered cup on my vanity. In it I have 1/2 cup of water, 2 spoonfuls of 3% food grad hydrogen peroxide, and 2 drops of Lugols Iodine solution. I dip my toothbrush into the water… then dip my toothbrush into the seperate small container of baking soda. the baking soda sticks to the wet brush. then I brush my teeth for atleast 30seconds. after I am done I wash/rinse my mouth with the mixed water solution, and spit it out. NOTICE your teeth will feel smoother and cleaner than ever! (sidenote: I also use this water solution in my water pick. if you dont have one you SHOULD get one. it gets the water solution under your gums, where all the bad things live, and kills them. your teeth and mouth problems will all go away. if you have infections, open wounds inside the mouth, painful teeth, or recently removed teeth, you should DEFINITELY be using a water pick. you may need to turn it down to the lowest water pressure setting if you have open wounds.)

sorry, that should read 1 spoonful of hydrogen peroxide (per 1/2 cup of water). if you feel anything more than a slight tingling sensation during or after brushing, just use slightly less hydrogen peroxide. its also very important to buy **FOOD GRADE** hydrogen peroxide (not the stuff you buy at the pharmacies). get the Essential Oxygen brand from Amazon.
