Tortillaland tortillas

My husband and I went through about a month straight of making Mexican-style tacos for breakfast. This included salsa verde, scrambled eggs, refried beans, and corn tortillas. Once we started eating it more and more, I noticed I was having stomach issues. I figured it was in part to the beans, but the tortillas were the main culprit. Therefore, I searched for a new tortilla, and these are what I landed on.

What I was looking for

If I was going off my typical criterion for pre-made food, I never would’ve purchased the corn tortillas that I did. They had several different preservatives, including benzoic acid and sodium hydroxide. However, my husband and I needed something quick, so I went with them. Once I decided the tortillas needed to go, I tightened up my criterion. I went back to my basics. Ideally, I wanted as fresh as possible. I didn’t care if it was corn- or wheat-based, but it had to have as minimal additives as possible. Once I began searching, I found Tortillaland.

Finding Tortillaland tortillas

I had never heard of this brand before I found in the search results of my grocery store’s app. To my surprise, they were in the refrigerator section. This gave me hope that they were fresh, so I decided to give them a try. They cook on the stove in about a minute, and keep well in the fridge for at least a month. Not only that, but they consist of 5 simple ingredients that are easily recognizable: wheat flour, water, canola oil, salt, and sugar.

Overall

Although I try to stay away from wheat, these tortillas are family approved. My husband absolutely loves them, and I love the fact that they are fresh and use simple ingredients. I am extremely pleased that I found these tortillas; I can’t imagine a better way to get fresh, wholesome tortillas at home, apart from making them yourself. I keep these in my fridge pretty much at all times, and would definitely recommend them to someone searching for a wholesome wheat tortilla.
