A classic dish make from scratch.
Ingredients
- 3 lbs. beef stew meat
- 1/4 cup (2 large) mushrooms, diced small
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2” sliver of onion
- 2 tsp. beef Better than Bullion
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp. Lawry’s seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium (4-5). Add meat, and cook until juices are starting to release and meat turns from red to brown.
- Move meat to crockpot, leaving juices behind. Add mushrooms to skillet, and cook over medium (4) heat until soft, ~3 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup of water to skillet. Whisk in flour until smooth, adding water, as needed. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thick.
- Pour flour mixture on top of meat in the crockpot. Add in remaining water, along with remaining ingredients, and stir well.
- Cook on high for 3-4 hours until beef is tender but not falling apart.

A hearty dish with tender beef slow cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 3 lbs. beef stew meat
- 1-10.5 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 package brown gravy mix
- 2” sliver of onion
- 1/4 cup flour
- Lawry’s seasoning salt
- Garlic powder
- Salt
Instructions
- Rinse beef and pat dry. Cover in garlic powder, pepper, Lowry‘s.
- Add meat to a skillet coated in oil over medium (5) heat. Cook meat, turning often, until some of the outside is brown but not crispy and liquid starts to be released.
- Add flour and stir, coating all meat and absorbing all liquid. Allow to cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Cut onion into 1/2” slivers. Add to a bowl, and mix with brown gravy mix, broth, and soup.
- Add meat to the crockpot, then top with broth mixture. Do not stir.
- Cook in crockpot on high for 4 hours. Stir halfway and adjust seasonings, as needed.
