Beef stir fry

A quick, classic dinner that is healthy and delicious.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 lb. beef
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 of 2 bell peppers
- broccoli
- 8 oz. baby bella mushrooms
Sauce
- 1/3 c. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. coconut aminos
- 2-3 Tbsp. beef broth or water
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp. fresh ginger -or- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp. corn starch
- 1 tsp. honey
- 1/8 tsp. Chinese 5 spice (optional)
- Dab of molasses (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
Instructions
- Wash and slice the beef, onion, bell peppers, and mushrooms, and mince the garlic. Set aside.
- Whisk sauce ingredients until smooth and set aside.
- Heat a skillet to medium (6) heat. Add the oil and sauté the beef until fully cooked and browned on each side. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add sliced mushrooms to skillet. Sauté until moisture starts to be released, ~5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add bell peppers and onions to skillet. Sauté until slightly cooked but still has crunch, ~3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add broccoli to skillet, along with the sauce. Bring sauce to a simmer, then add all ingredients. Allow to cook for a few minutes over medium-low (3) heat until sauce has thickened and everything is heated through.
