Strawberry buttercream

A buttery strawberry frosting perfect for birthday cake.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup/170g) unsalted butter
- 2 cups (250g) powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp. (20g) freeze dried strawberries
- 2 Tbsp. (32.5g) milk
- 1 Tbsp. strawberry jam/purée
- 1/2 tsp. amaretto
Instructions
- Cut butter into cubes. Add to a stand mixer, then cream with whisk attachment until fluffy.
- Add in powdered sugar. Stir on low until powdered sugar is fully incorporated.
- Add freeze dried strawberries and jam and stir until smooth.
- Add milk and vanilla and stir until smooth.
- Turn mixer on medium speed and beat mixture for 5-7 minutes until light and fluffy.
Notes
This recipe makes enough to cover a 9” x 13” cake or similar size. To add frosting in the middle of the cake, double the recipe.
