A simple bread that is perfect for sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups (400g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 cups + 3 Tbsp. (340ml) water
Instructions
- Stir flour, yeast, and salt together in a large container with a lid.
- Add enough water to create a shaggy and slightly loose dough. Cover and place in fridge for 12-24 hours.
- When ready to bake, remove dough from fridge. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.
- Generously flour a silicone baking mat on a baking sheet. Dump dough on top and generously flour top of dough.
- Separate in half, then form into rough loaves. Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Once oven has preheated, add a tray of hot water to the bottom of the oven. Add baking sheet to middle rack and spritz bread several times before shutting oven door.
- Bake for 10 minutes with steam. Remove water tray, rotate pan, then place on lower rack. Bake for another 10 minutes until golden and sounds hollow when tapped.
