An easy yet filling starch to go with stews and sauces.
Ingredients
- 3 large/4 medium pieces of manioc (yucca root)
Instructions
- Cut each piece into 3-4 smaller pieces, ~4″-5″ each.
- Make a vertical cut in the bark until flesh is reached. Run knife underneath bark until completely detached.
- Cut each piece into half circles. Using knife tip, remove stringy piece from center. Place each piece into a bowl of cold water until ready to cook.
- Once ready to cook, place in a steamer basket. Steam for 20-30 minutes, until fork tender. Remove steamer from heat.
