A classic side dish.
Ingredients
- 3 russet potatoes
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp. Nature’s season
- 1/2 tsp. white pepper
- Water
Instructions
- Peel potatoes and cut into 1″ cubes. Add to a large pot with just enough water to cover.
- Turn heat to high until boiling. Lower heat to medium-high (7-8) and cook for 15-20 minutes, until potatoes fall apart when poked with a fork.
- When ready to mash, drain potatoes in a colander and move them back to the pot.
- Add all remaining ingredients. Mash and adjust seasonings to taste.
Notes
If making other food at the same time, turn the heat off of the potatoes but don’t immediately drain. This will keep them warm and fresh until ready to serve.
For smooth potatoes, use a hand or stand mixer. For slightly lumpy potatoes, use a potato masher.
