Rice krispie treats

An improved version of a classic.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick (4 oz.) butter
  • 1-10 oz. bag of mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Measure Rice Krispies into a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. Brown butter in a large pot. Remove from heat and stir in marshmallows, vanilla, and salt. Mix until marshmallows are melted and mixture is fully combined. 
  3. Pour marshmallow mixture over Rice Krispies and stir until combined. 
  4. Gently press mixture into a greased 8”x8” baking dish. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting. 

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter for 3 Tbsp. of coconut oil and 2 tsp. coconut milk powder.
