Ingredients
- 1 packet of yeast
- 2/3 c. warm milk
- 1/2 c. applesauce
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. coconut oil, melted
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3-3 1/2 c. flour
Instructions
- Heat milk, applesauce, and sugar in a pot until ~100F. Pour into a stand mixer and add yeast. Stir to dissolve and allow to sit for 10 minutes or until starting to foam.
- Add in coconut oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix with a dough hook until well combined.
- Add enough flour to make a smooth dough. Knead with the machine on medium-low for ~5 minutes, until dough is smooth.
- Cover all sides of dough with oil and allow to rise at room temperature for 2 hours.
- Punch down dough and roll onto countertop. Separate into 9 equal pieces, then roll into balls, folding the bottoms under. Place in a greased 8″x8″ baking dish and allow to rise for another hour.
- Once risen, brush tops of rolls with egg wash. Bake at 375°F for 22-25 minutes in the bottom of the oven.
