Hint® water is something I’ve seen commercials for, but never had any intentions of buying. On one late night snack run, I decided to give it a shot. It appeared to be carbonated, and I thought it might be refreshing. Below, I’ve given my experience trying the flavored water, and what my thoughts on it are.
What Hint® water is
Hint® is “water infused with [raspberry] essence and other natural flavors”. Simply, it is a flavored water that contains 0 calories and 0 sweeteners. It comes in many flavors, including watermelon, blackberry, pineapple, and raspberry. The company promotes it as a healthy substitute to soda, juice, and other sugary drinks.
Hint® water review
The first time I tasted it, I was extremely disappointed. It was partly my fault, since I thought it was carbonated. So, once I got that out of my mind…I was still extremely disappointed. To me, I just didn’t feel the flavoring was necessary. It was so faint, I audibly asked myself “what’s the point?” My first reaction was that it tasted like a drop of melted lip balm got in the water, then the bottle was shaken.
Overall, I don’t plan on drinking this again. I would rather take my chances trying something new or sticking to regular purified water. I don’t want to discourage anyone from drinking it, as it certainly can be beneficial if you are swapping it out for soda. However, it just isn’t for me.
